After Dark

Concerts & fireworks.

When the sun goes down, the Armada really lights up — open-air concerts by the river and fireworks bursting over the masts. Here's what to expect in 2027.

The concerts

A big open-air stage by the Seine is one of the Armada's signatures, and the music programme is a genuine draw in its own right. Past editions have brought international names alongside regional acts, playing to crowds in the hundreds of thousands across the ten days.

The fireworks

Fireworks light up the river above the rigging on most evenings, with the biggest display saved for the finale. They're free to watch from the quays — find a spot along the water with a clear view of the sky over the ships.

Where to watch

🏨 Where to stay near the concert zone

The reality: when the Armada announced its free concerts in 2023, over 70% of hotels within walking distance of the quays were booked within the first month. By June, rooms further out were charging 2× the normal rate.

What Armada regulars do: they book refundable rooms as soon as dates are confirmed, then keep an eye on price drops. The key? Hotels within a 15-minute walk of the concert stage let you skip the post-fireworks crowd crush — and save on taxi fares.

The 2027 concert question: the concerts have always been free, but funding has been cut this edition and organisers have discussed whether some could become paid. The line-up and any ticketing aren't confirmed yet — join the list and we'll send the programme and any ticket news the moment it drops.
