The grand finale

Where to watch the Grande Parade.

The Armada closes with the Grande Parade: the whole fleet sails down the Seine to the sea. Here are the best free spots to see the tall ships up close.

On the final day of the Armada (27 June 2027), the ships leave Rouen and descend the river towards Le Havre. The Seine's tight meanders bring the hulls remarkably close to the banks.

In Rouen

The departure from the Rouen quays is spectacular, with the ships passing under the lifted Pont Flaubert. Arrive very early for a riverside spot.

Just downstream

Croisset / Canteleu — the first bends after Rouen, by Flaubert's pavilion. La Bouille — a postcard village on the water, a long-time favourite (come early). Sahurs and Val-de-la-Haye face the river across the loops.

The Seine loops

Duclair — a classic viewing town with its riverside quay and ferry. Jumièges — watch with the famous abbey ruins nearby. Further on, Caudebec / Rives-en-Seine and Villequier see the fleet before it reaches the estuary and Le Havre.

Tips

It's free everywhere; arrive hours ahead, bring a picnic, and check the published parade timing. See the full Grande Parade guide and the history of the Armada.

Several viewpoints are beautiful villages in their own right — worth a visit beyond parade day.
