Getting from Rouen to the D-Day beaches

Driving is the most flexible option: take the A13 towards Caen, then head north on the N13 towards Bayeux and the coast, about 1h45–2h each way. Public transport is impractical for the spread-out beaches, so most visitors either self-drive or take a small-group guided tour that departs from the classic bases of Bayeux or Caen and handles all the logistics. Rouen makes a comfortable base the night before — start the morning in Caen's Memorial museum if it fits your route.
