A Viking fleet on the left bank for the 2027 Armada

One of the headline novelties for 2027: facing the great sailing ships moored on the right bank, a fleet of around 40 Viking longships from Norway and Denmark will gather on the left bank of the Seine.

The reason is historic — 2027 marks the millennium of William the Conqueror, celebrated as a European ‘year of the Normans’. The Norse flotilla, alongside caravels and other historic craft, gives the 2027 edition a distinctive twist you won't have seen at previous Armadas.
