Pick the right day.
The dates are fixed, but choosing when within the ten days — and what to pack — makes a big difference to your visit.
The dates
The Armada 2027 runs Thursday 17 to Sunday 27 June 2027 — ten full days on the Rouen quays, closing with the Grande Parade on the final Sunday.
Weather in June
June in Normandy is mild and green, with daytime highs typically around 18–22°C and long daylight hours. It's also a coastal climate, so pack for the chance of a shower and a cooler breeze by the river, especially in the evenings and on the clifftops if you head to Étretat. Sun and rain in the same day is normal — layers win.
Busiest vs quietest
- Busiest: the opening days, both weekends, and the closing Grande Parade Sunday.
- Quietest: weekdays in the middle of the run — far easier for boarding ships without long queues.
- Best of both: visit on a weekday, but try to be there for one evening of fireworks.
What to pack
- Comfortable shoes — you'll walk kilometres of quayside and cobbled streets.
- A light rain jacket and a layer for the evening river breeze.
- Water and a hat for sunny days; sunscreen.
- A power bank — you'll take a lot of photos.
- A little cash as backup for food stalls.
